Mar 27, 2022 · The AirNow.gov Map Makes Air Quality Data Readily Available to the Public for the First Time Wildfire smoke is the predominant cause of major air quality events in the United States that affect millions of Americans each year, causing significant negative health effects.

Conserve electricity and set your air conditioner at a higher temperature. Choose a cleaner commute—share a ride to work or use public transportation. Bicycle or walk to errands when possible. Refuel cars and trucks after dusk. Combine errands and reduce trips. Limit engine idling.

The AQI value for your community is between. 0 and 50. Air quality is satisfactory and poses little or no health risk. • Moderate. The AQI is between 51 and 100. Air quality is acceptable; however, pollution in this range may pose a moderate health concern for a very small number of indi-viduals.The U.S. EPA AirNow program ( www.AirNow.gov) protects public health by providing forecast and real-time observed air quality information across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
