There already is verticallity basically all of them. If you want mods that play similar to Eternal, maybe try out Death4Told which brings Doom2016 gameplay to Doom. Its author works on an Eternal gameplay mod but this one is still WIP. The best gameplay mod is Schism, closely followed by Psychic.

One of my all time favourites is Valiant because I love the level themes and quite liked the new monsters.
