When she first starts out with a cold engine, shifing from 1st to 2nd, you have to hit the shift button 3 or 4 times before it will shift into 2nd. After running the bike for awhile and the engine is really warmed up, it will shift alot better.

If you're going to take your atv swimming, you would minimize the likelihood of a problem by staying with a manual foot shift.
