Mystery Luger with British proofs - need help. I have a Luger for which I need help to identify it's heritage. First, it has no German markings on it that I can identify (no DWM, Erfurt, 42, no date, no waffenmark eagles, etc.) Serial numbers match #23xx with what appears to be a script "d" under the serial # on the front of the frame.

It is marked 1918 and 1920. What was the 1920 mark for? Second it has a different number on the rear of the main lower frame 1843 vs. 2701 on the rest of the pistol. All numbers match. The L is almost certainally an "e" or "c".It has the safety hole, which according to the video supports the Police Unit theory. I've also been advised the magazine is Post WWII East German, and that the removed German proof marks may indicate a Russian capture during WWII.
