Luger markings

Mystery Luger with British proofs - need help. I have a Luger for which I need help to identify it's heritage. First, it has no German markings on it that I can identify (no DWM, Erfurt, 42, no date, no waffenmark eagles, etc.) Serial numbers match #23xx with what appears to be a script "d" under the serial # on the front of the frame.

It is marked 1918 and 1920. What was the 1920 mark for? Second it has a different number on the rear of the main lower frame 1843 vs. 2701 on the rest of the pistol. All numbers match. Last but not least it appears to have X out unit number on the rear grip frame K and another letter and the number 10.

The L is almost certainally an "e" or "c".It has the safety hole, which according to the video supports the Police Unit theory. I've also been advised the magazine is Post WWII East German, and that the removed German proof marks may indicate a Russian capture during WWII. So the story so far is: 1916 made by DWM for the German Imperial Army, used during WWI.Since the transitioned the year from 1939-1940 with the "Z" suffix, the gun was probably made very late in 1939. I ran into a Luger today in 9mm that had no makers marks or any other markings but a four digit serial number., It is a byf but has no marking above the chamber. It has a matching frame, barrel and upper. It also doesnt have the P.08 stamped on the frame by the safety. I have detail stripped it and has mostly matching parts. All but the toggle pin, and also the striker & extractor area which is all stamped 56., The following markings can be found on pistol-. Left Rear Frame By Safety: P.08. Top: 41 byf. Front of Frame: 8278 with 3E marked under that on curved part of frame. Left Front Frame by Barrel: 8278. These were known as Kommunalepolizei or Gemeindepolizei. The Sda. is the abbreviation for the city. The low weapon number is consistent with this having been a small police force.
