The pic rail can be reliable, but you need to epoxy it in place. There are lots of ring options available, but it’s also higher than the integral Tikka integral rail.

Tikka is going to be 10 folds better than the Ruger in almost every aspect. If you want a magazine fed rifle, get a savage with AICS style magwell. They’re abour $35 for polymer magpul 10 rounders. Now that Magpul has a hunter version out finally, this would fix the issue, but at 3 pounds it seemingly would make the rifle a bit on the heavy side for lugging around in the mountains.
