Oct 20, 2012 · Posted October 20, 2012. I would be interested. It would be nice if 5.25 and 4.5 models were introduced. Pre-done slide lightening would be cool too. Tighter slide to frame tolerances would definitely be a plus ( mine would be going on a 4.5 xdm open gun so the lighter the better). Adjust the extractor tension to help the slide return to battery reliably. Interaction Complications. Reach out to Springfield Armory (SA) for support; they're often willing to offer repairs. Detonator aluminum slides came first ($$$$), but Shooters Design eventually followed. Hi Dequeant, The Elite OSP & non-OSP slides are easily interchangeable ... but the Elite OSP slide standardly has suppressor-height sights. I find that setup interferes w a good sight picture. I have a XDm .40 compact with a 9mm conversion barrel and I recently picked up a XDm full size in 9mm. I was at the range and decided to try swapping the slides out with the frames. I had swapped them out at home to see if they fit and cycled and everything seemed ..., Personally, I'd get the plate that just slides into the rear slot. Less work involved and you can always reinstall the rear sights if you don't want to use the red dot.
