So the basis of this build is to take my daily driven 1984 ranger with the stock 2.3 and 4-speed, and turn it into a drivable street machine. So my goal was to drive my ranger while i was gathering parts for my engine. A high reving/low torque motor wouldn't be my 1st choice for an engine swap into a 4x4. Best gear it low (5.13s?); 7.5 wouldn't be in danger from a SHO motor. And personally, I would stay with M5OD-R1.
